Hi All

I`m newbie to marine tanks so please bear with me, just retired and need a hobby so I have just purchased River Reef 94 litre aquarium I hope to set it up as a marine tank has all filtration built in, but reading various reports about marine tanks would like to add a protien skimmer. But with closed hood and no space for cup on top of skimmer and not able to hang over side/back cos of moulded hood fitting I have a problem. Has anyone else come across this? if so how to get round it?

Many thanks for reading this any other tips about setting up the tank would be appreciated eventually would like to add soft corals etc but being newbie have to ask these questions

Thanks all kind regards to all John ([email protected] )

hey ;)

like its been said try posting in the saltwater section :good: anyway ill try my best to help you

on a tank that size a protein skimmer isn't necessary as long as you keep water changes regular. If you are adamant on a protein skimmer take a look at orca's range. They have small protein skimmers in their tanks called:

Orca tl450
Orca tl550

When i was considering the salty side, i considered the same tank aswell and was recommended the V2 protein skimmer for that tank.

All the best

hope you are having a nice retirement :)

ive heard of people using v2 120s in one of the chambers in the rear compartment...otherwise an external skimmer is a possibility
