Fish Fanatic
Well these things happen, and with fish you try not to get TOO invested... But it still seems like such a waste when one of them passes away and really shouldn't...
A few days ago Gothie, my black HM male with the "PTSD" got startled by one of the girls charging him (I set her cup next to his tank while I was giving hers a good cleaning) and since she startled him, like a cartoon, he made a mad dash for cover. He swam into a sea shell I was testing out as an ornament...
He peeked out, looked at her cup and went back in...
It was all very comical and cartoon-like at the time
Days later he was no where to be seen...
And today a lovely decomposition smell is comming from his tank. I'm thinking he got stuck in there and died... Actually judging by the smell and cloudy water, it's a pretty unfortunate certainty.
So to remember him:
Unfortunate that fish sometimes choose to die in the lamest and stupidest ways...
Bright side:
Snowdrops fins are almost healed from her adventure jumping over into her brothers tank and getting her fins shredded...
So between that and the new babies everywhere there are good things happening also. That takes the edge off...triumphs and tragedies
Anyway, since all my Bettas are solid white now (or somewhat larval and impossible to find in the forest of
java moss in my fry grow out tank)... I am considering a new "token NON-white" male, because I need one to be different than the others.
I'm thinking about a "platinum black" HM or CT...
Thought I'd share the downs as well as the ups
