posted a topic in tropical fish emergencies and thought i might let a few more people know.

Over the last few days i have lost 27 of my little friends.

Fish that i had:

1 Betta (red)
3 Dwarf Gouramis (coral)
4 Dwarf Gouramis (honey's)
3 Siamese Algae Eater
11 NEON TETRAS
5 Corydoras Cats (Albino)
2 Bristlenose Catfish

At the moment sort of alive i have:

1 Betta (red)
1 Dwarf Gouramis (coral)

This might be enough for me not to start up again

Has any one gone through this before?
How do you keep going on your favorite hobby after this type of thing happens?

I know how you feel. I've never lost 27 in two days... but I did lose 10 in two weeks. It's hard but you will get over it. :-(

All the information is in Tropical Fish Emergencies

If you have any ideas id love to hear it.

I have checked and double checked everything
even put a damn multimeter into the water to make sure there was no electrity ie heater shorting or something

Just had the tank i wanted it.

Landscapped nicely perfect fish

i know how u feel. i had a female guppy and her 11 fry that i had raised which were full adults. then one day i came home from school and they wre all dead:(.

also i know this guy hoo has a 6 foot long, 6 foot wide and 3 foot high marine tank and he woke up one morning and saw all 72 marine fish dead. and thats hunderds of dollars worth of fish.

All Fish now gone

i'm not exactly sure what u should use to clean your tank but i do know not to use washing up detergent.

i'm really sorry to hear about your losses. that must be terrible to lose so many fish in that short time. dont give up though!

having just lost a tank in this manner ignore the no detergents and bleach the lot... then rinse it all - and again and again... then rinse it again.

I hope you stick with it - you obviously want to stick with it or you wouldn't be pig sick about loosing them.

Hi there,
:( I am also very sorry for your losses, I will read your fish emergency posts too, to see if there is anything I can do to help. There are alot of things to look at and ask when a person starts a new tank, a lot of the fish I saw looked like fish for an experienced keeper? I have lots of q's so I will go read your other posts

I had that happen once, we had done a water change and had one goldfish, couple platties and 3 swords (in breeding tank since 2 where babies one was mom. The male dad was not a sword.) ANyway, city had done water treatment that week and had way too much clorine in the water. And I had the declorinizing stuff and everything, but it didn't help. I lost all but 1, the goldfish. And then it died months later. So sad. Stupid city. I just was heart broken. So I went to a beta again, and then when he died, that was it for awhile. I was tired of having fish, and now I'm starting over again.

*hugs for you*

 I can't believe you lost 27 fish in only 2 days! I once lost 14 fish in two weeks for no apparent reason and I was so heartbroken because I didn't know what the probelm was. :-( My tank looked so empty! A few months later when Istarted losing fish again at a rapid rate, I was forced to cycle my aqaurium over again to avoid anymore fish deaths. I never discivered the promblem unfortuneatly. Good luck!

awww :-( im sorry :( my little story was when i was 7 or 8 years and i had goldfish and a catfish, and they got ICH and i treat them but when "they cure" i thought they were fine then they started with some sort of finrot, and i did not kno about that back then and they died one by one :'( i cried and i did not want anymore fishes for about 8 years , but i got over it :) i have guppies now :) and 2 tanks waitin to have habitants :p hope you feel better!
