Rio 125 Cabinet

cheers for that minxfishy,
they look nice actually - alot better cab than the rio 125
hmm so if its an internal filter where does that sit and house in the tank compared with the rio ?

i think i really need to see one in a shop dont i.

With the fluval internal you can place it pretty much anywhere you want it, providing its close enough to the top of the tank to cause surface agitation for oxygen of course, and the heater, again anywhere you want to put it, its not all in one box like the juwel range, but the filter and heater are often covered by plants or ornaments to hide them.

Seeing them in the flesh is always easier, unfortunately not many shops sell all the different ranges by different manufacturers to make it easier for us all

ba****ds

still i'll have a look again round the local stores see what i can get my hands on !!

pets at home do the fluval range

get a larger tank not much more thats a fluval, and i think it jumps up to a fluval 205 external filter.

My external 305 fluval is very quiet and so is the internal put the heater behind the filter to loose it, so heater in corner on back wall pump facing sideways on side wall if you follow.

Great tanks fluvals

Hi all ...
Went to pets at home today to check out the fluval range and wasnt convinced.
Anyway went on the net and had another look and finally today bought a new Juwel Rekord 800. :D
Really good price too .. looking on net the prices were around 125 quid
Went to the local guy 110 quid !!

Went for this because of the new improved filter and hood design rather than the fluval 125.

So off to ikea tomorrow to get a set of draws to sit the new tank on.
Might need to do a few mods to em to account for the extra weight,
but like i said earlier, me and the gaffer have sat on em and the draws were fine.

Cant wait to get setting it up ...

You might want to look at buying a seperate internal or external filter, alot of people rip out the built in Juwel filters. I always assumed thats because they aren't much good, but haven't got one myself so haven't used one.

Hi I had a jewel rio 125 and have just got the 180.

The filter, and heater sit in a box all neatly tucked away in the corner, (not sure if the rekord is exactly the same)
but I always take them out because I find an external easier to maintain and clean. Also the boxes are quite large, and taking it out gives those extra inches to the fish. Also after a while in-between the housing box and the tank its gets grungy. The second hand ones I have bought have been in quite good condition but when I take the filter box off its been  I know you dont see it but I know its there.

That said I think the idea of the 'guts' of the tank tucked away is great just wish the box was easily removed for cleaning the glass. When I did use the jewel internals the water was crystal clear, and the tank stayed at a constant temperature with the heater.

Yeah the rekord is the same - and they've (juwel) updated the design so the filters can be removed without disconnecting the pump.
This is the main reason i went for a rekord over the rio.
The lid has also been redesigned - now hinged at the back for easy access to the filters etc.

I like the idea of all the parts tucked away in a neat box too, but didnt think about the cleaning of the glass bit :X
