Hello,

I'm about to clean out an old tank and set it up. There's significant calcium build up which I'm planning on using vinegar to remove. It's a 200L tank and due to it's size I feel unformfortable supporting it on it's side in order to thoroughly rinse it once I'm finished with the vinegar.

If anyone here could help me out with a safer rinsing technique that will both thoroughly remove all the vinegar and not put strain on the seals/glass I would be very appreciative.

Thanks in advance for any advice.

I spray the vinegar on, then clean, then spray more on, then clean.

To rinse off, I spray water on the glass, then drain the tank and do the same again twice more.

Spirit vinegar should not be harmful if trace amounts remain… after all, it's just an acid.

I agree - white distilled vinegar is very good for this.
