I've used the freezing water method and its quick better than letting the fish suffer.
He's suffering now he's on his back and darting around the tank.

oh god...i should have stayed here for the vets...i realy cant do it myself...he is big as well its not like doing it to a small fish....i dont know what to do

Not sure how much cloves oil it would take to kill a big fish.
I would phone the vet and see if he could put him down for you.
Not looking good at all i'm afraid.

i get confused...as i thought i was doing the right thing having the vet put him to sleep for me...but every one on here has advised me against it...so i listerned as it made me feel he had a chance...i realy dont know now what is best...i just feel he has had enough..

so do you think to late for marks now....he has only done the darting thing once...lthough i do know he in bad way...he just just gone back on his side...well side to back realy..

Bloody hell Sharon.... talk about everything going tits up all at once My mum went througha period like this a few years back, it was one thing after the other and I really feared for her health because of it. But she is a strong woman and she pulled through it all, it seems such a long time ago now. You are strong too, i can tell by the way you have done everything for your darling fish. you WILL get through all this. You WILL look back one day and go, god that was a dark time,. but look where I am now. I do hope there is a miracle for Riley, but more importantly, and I know that might sound bad, but I hope your mum is alright. Every girl needs her mum more than anything else in the world. Let Mark take riley tomorrow if he is still with us, and then you can concentrate on your mum. She needs you so bad right now. All my love and best wishes xxx
