need a bit of money as well as some thing to do in my spare time im using an ex-tropical tropiquarium 68 which i have just cleaned and emptied is the tropiquarium sun-glo and aqua-glo both 15w each ok for soft and lps atm? where can i get a bit of eggcrate? and where do u get live rock peices? smash up a big piece? also is a protein skimmer really neccesary and shall i keep the sponges in the external filter? im defo taking out the bioballs lol. and how often do i need to do a water change? thank you i will put some photos up soon hopefully

you wont make much money fragging corals, you will be lucky to brake even. Its just a better way to up your own collections by being able to swap with people.

egg crate, ebay - koi filter grid

i would put LR rubble in the external along with a bit of phos remover

i wouldnt have thought 15w lights would sustain LPS

ok i said i was going to do it so im going to crack on and do it but will i need a protein skimmer ? and what kind of lights can i get which woon't make me broke?

I just recently set up my frag tank, its plummed in-line with my main tank. Is that an option?

that looks good alex.

MEans you only have to miantain the levels for one volume of water.

Im hoping to do soemthing similar with mine soon.

ok i said i was going to do it so im going to crack on and do it but will i need a protein skimmer ? i got some marine bulbs today 2 15w t8's should be ok for softies adding more water atm how do i put photos on here microsoft paint?

i wouldnt like to do that as there is no room and the water condition is just too bad in the other tank

ive filled it up and now its running with 1 pump carbon phosphate remover t8 lighting and cheato in the bottom like yours alex which is awesome to say the least. im really broke atm so only got 1kg live rock from the other tank which ill brake up for the frags. as im so in demand of money being 15 and job less atm im wondering if i could live without a protein skimmer for the while with just regular water changes. i dont understand if it is soo neccary is there anything to die or rot ?

thnx

I would maybe wait untill you can keep the parameters in the other tank 100% stable buddy.

Basicly, your frag tank needs to run the same, if not more clean and stable than your display tank. Fragged corals release toxins into the water, which need to be removed to promote healing, growth and prevent chemical warfare with other species of corals...

ok will order protein skimmer today thankyou the frag tank is now cycleing
