Reverse Osmosis Dispensers

We dont have that over here. But usually the ones that arent for aquarium use wont have as many compartments so give RO water that is a higher TDS. Generally you want the TDS to be as close to 0 as possible. Try and find someone with a hand held TDS meter and see for yourself.

Its Total Dissolved Salts (If memory serves). Like Ben says, I shoudln't imagine its as "pure" as RO water you'd get from your LFS. However, we could be wrong and should you get some, test it with a TDS meter. If this is your only source for RO water, then I'd suggest you test a sample just prior to every time you buy RO from there to ensure the membranes are performing as they should.

Actually, what you could do is get a bottle from the store and take it to your LFS and get them to test it with a TDS meter. Just say its from your own RO machine but aren't sure if its working correctly. If it comes back with a very low TDS, then you should be ok purchase it from the store. I'd still invest in a TDS meter, as sometimes LFS don't have time to keep an eye on their own RO water membranes. Wherever you get the water from, you'll at least know that its safe for your tank :good:
