Retiring Mod Status

Hi all,

It's with a sense of sadness that I resign my position as moderator on TFF.

With all my commitments now - family, career, writing etc. I simply don't have enough time to do a busy forum like this justice as a mod.

I have informed admin/other mods and have recommended a replacement.

I'd like to say how much I've enjoyed my time here. I started the hobby in 2003 and soon found TFF. It's been a steep learning curve since then, to say the least.

I hope I've spread some positivity amongst you and wish you all the best for the future. It's been a pleasure to share with you all in wonderful hobby that is the planted aquarium.

I'll pop on now and again, hopefully sharing some aquascapes and helping out when and where I can.

You've inspired quite a few people to continue through the bad times and also helped them avoid some of the bad times too.

Also its good to see someone who can grow plantst as well as you on a general forum like this one rather than just a plant speciality site.

I guess it had to happen eventually. At least its not good bye from the hobby altogether, but I am saddened. No doubt I'll see you on UKAPS so thats cool

Ive not been on here long enough to become acquainted with you george BUT having said that I do Fully understand your busy home life predicament and know how you feel. I often feel that some people may think i cant be bothered but this is purely not true, and as andy said is never more true, there arent enough hours in the day.

Thanks for everything george as i have said on many occasions you pretty much taught me everything and i'm eternally gratefull. I have no idea how you have managed to keep up with it all for this long so this comes as no surprise.

I would strongly recommend members who have benefitted from Georges valued input in the past log onto UKAPS.org i'm not saying leave here as this is a very strong forum for all things fishy whereas UKAPS is plant biased. join both and you will still see george around (i hope!!)

It is sad that you are reducing your role at TFF, but I think that you are retiring your mod status for allthe right reasons (family, career, writing) and I sincerely hope that you continue having many, many blessings with all three things in the future. Your success in these areas is greatly deserved. We will look for you dropping by once in a while to inspire us with beautiful new scapes and to tell us about any new wood acquisitions, and yummy new planted tank gadgets, you may acquire.
