He was the only happy Betta out of the lot and he was in a barrack that he could barely move in :-( I mean barely, this is by far the smallest barrack ive seen, even a vase would be bigger  I felt sorry for him, So i bought him, and he is in quarantine in a .5 gallon tank, I will float it on the top of my community when I get a proper tank in a few days for him.
I have named him "Hoggle" I am sure his colours will come out some more, I wont breed from him as he isnt worth breeding from, he is in retirement and will enjoy his days happily in a perfect enviroment! ;)

I had him home for 30 minutes & he was looking hungry and looking for food on the bottom of the tank, so i popped in some tropical flakes to see if he was interested and he munched it all up  I am going to get him some blood worms in the morning and more complete diet food.

Meet Hoggle, rescued Betta

Can anyone tell me, how to stop any obsession happening, with Bettas?

Best of luck with that!!!!

Maybe you could go round causing scenes and cursing out fish shop managers, then get banned from the premises..... block aquabid.com from your browser..... then maybe you'll have a bit of a chance!

Congrats on Hoggle, he's a cutie. Welcome to the obsessed!

Hi faewyn :)

Congratulations on getting your first betta.

But, I'll bet he won't be your last! ;)

Oh you can't stop it. It's like the plague...

He's cute

What a cutie!

And I'll tell you, I got my first one about a month ago, now I have 3 bettas and a new 3 gallon tank! I must have more, I don't have any females, I want a crowntail, maybe a few more plakats...

It's a disease. A chronic disease.

Stop the obsession? Why would you want to do that? It's very hard to resist, at least for me. I cannot go into a fish store without checking out the bettas first, both male and female, just in case they have one that I cannot live without, which they always do.

Seriously, though, congratulations on the new family member!

I can't be sure, perhaps Wuv can but it looks like the bottom fin is that of a crowntail? I can only tell when they flair....can't wait too see his colors come out after he gets used to his own big home.

He looks like he could have some crowny in him. He's very nice, congrats! :)

There is no cure. You must not resist. You must rearrange furniture and get rid of niknaks and pesky home decor to make room for them. They own you now.

:wizard: ~~SHAZZAM!~~ You have been zapped by the betta!

Funny how you say, the obsession wont end, I was online last night organising a Pair of show quality Red Half Moons , imported from Malayasia to Sydney, I want to breed some nice babies!! Mind you they are so expensive! $160 Australian dollars
If it doesnt work out, Ill have start of with a female Blue Crowntail, and then hunt for a male..which wont be so hard.

Wish me luck!!
