Any chance we could get buy/sell/swap subforums, if not by country, at least by continent? It seems nearly all the offers are 'local pickup only' or willing to ship only within the same country. Perhaps adding an 'international shipping' subforum as well would take care of those that are willing to ship widely. It would make transactions a LOTeasier, I'd think.

How about spliting the forum into sub forums and labeling them by Major Regions/Countries

Ex:

U.S
U.K
Australia

Hows about we have a post guideline to follow, which includes putting your country in the topic discription. Even moderate it.

That would still make things hard to find by country, least for those of us stateside, because common abbreviations of "United States" (US and USA) are too short to search for, and some states like "New York" would also be unsearchable. Also seems an unnessecarily large database query.

If topic titles were more descriptive, members whishing to purchase or browse topics for items for sale can automatically "prune" which posts are most relavant to themselves, without the need for furthur forums!

Dividing the forum would mean an Aussie would have to look through all three plus boards, even if the item could be shipped from anywhere in the world.

If we could see the whole forum as one, with the country and item correctly described in the title, I would know whether or not it could be shipped etc. or whether I could locally pick it up.

Edit: I see your point about the search function, but do enough people use the search function in the Buy/Sell/Swap forum?

I think there should just be a standard set up that is enforced. If it's not adhered to then the owner should be PM'd and if they still don't use it then the thread should be removed (obviously some discretion would be required)

WANTED/SALE/SWAP/FREE : Object mini description
Location - Collection Only / will post nationally/internationally

I often open threads which are half way around the world, not necessarily wasted time as they're often interesting but it can be quite frustrating.

As for the search issue, aren't most threads out of date by the time they permanently drop off the first/second page?
