Reptile tank as aquarium

Hey as the title says, i have just been given a 4 foot reptile tank, it has 5mm glass and doesn't seem to be re-enforced in any way. my 3 foor tank has double layered glass and a re-enfocement at the top.

Can i use it? Please help i really wanna set it up ASAP

No!

Reptile tanks are not made the same way. Not suitable to hold water

I brought my 4ft tank from ebay, it was previously used to house a water dragon and I have had no problems with it at all. I do belive that it was originally sold as a fish tank. I think 5mm glass maybe too thin.

Exactly, he is not talking about fish tank that was used as reptile tank. If that is case you just clean it and use it.

However, if he is speaking of a reptile tank, which he wants to use as a fish aquarium. He cannot, because even though they look the same, they are not made the same.

Hmmm, it's a 6mm glass. i just finished re-enforcing the glass by putting at 25cm wide 6mm piece across the middle, and 2 pieces on the sides. And i also just finished making a oregan pine canopy, so i'm gonna slowy fill it up and hope for the best.

just anouther question, i have 2 aquaclear mini's, one dolphin rated at 250/Lph and a small box filter will this be enough fitration?

Yep, have to agree with him.
Most smaller teraniums also have a port to allow like a waterfall in your tank that need a plug in.
The glass is also thinner.
There even was a warning on my teraniums (35gallon) that said it is not suitable for aquarium use.

I agree with the others in this post... This is a disaster waiting to happen. Aquarium glass is different than many terrerium's glass. It isn't solely a function of a support brace across the top or a nice canopy. The glass itself may not be sutable for holding so much weight (and water puts a lot of pressure on aquarium glass). If you still want to attempt this, it's your tank and home, so we aren't going to be able to stop you, but I think the consensus is that this is a bad, bad idea.
