Alright this is the game plan xD I'm going to wash the hell out of the sand in a pillow case. Remove all my fish from the current tank to another one that's already been set up. It's currently my fry tank I have a couple that I'm going to put in the breeder. Going to stick my filter heater and decor there also. So two filters two heaters. Will probably turn of one of the heaters, remove the decor plants etc. Then remove the water put the water in my 5G buckets remove the gravel clean the bottom of the tank well with only water. Add the well washed sand, add the water in my 5G buckets wait for the sand to settle.
One question should I add the filter and heater also my filter has a nylon sock where it sucks water so it won't suck up any sand. (I don't think it will)
Once the sand is settled add the decor and plants if the tank does get to hot could I wait for it to cool down and then add the fish. All my tanks are usually in the as temperature range. Maybe a couple degrees (F) above or below.
That's my game plan haha would be really helpful if you could point out anything I might be missing or doing wrong. Will probably get the sand today clean it well and do it over the weekend.
