Quick question really, can the Fluval tubing on my 204 be replaced with silicone tubing (say, eheim or tetratec etc)?

Hi, I replaced mine on fluval 305 with eheim 16/22 mm tube with no probs at all, just choose the correct size and you should be fine, just make sure the nuts runs freely over the tubing . Good luck

the reason fluvals tubing is ribbed is so tha it can bend over the back ot the tank without kinking.

Filters that use straight tubing do not need to bend over the back - so if you put it on a fluval it might kink and reduce the flow.

But, i suppose if you play around with it , it might be ok. - just make sure it has not kinked and is not slowing the flow through it.

Hope this helped a bit

Just found this post and thought I'd update it. I replaced the Fluval hose with Eheim silicone tubing, and used 2 Eheim installation sets (complete intake and spraybar set) which I managed to pick up for £10 each from my LFS. Works fine :good:
