hi there

I've been given a 3ft tank. However 2 of the corners have small peices of glass missing. I tested the tank and it's leaking. Once it gets to about half way down the leaking stops. Do you reckon it would be ok to put a load of silica sealant in the corners of the insside of the tank and then on the outside, or is it wise to try and put some kind of replacement glass and then seal them on?

Sorry if it sounds a bit muddled, I haven't woken up yet!

i think sealant would only hold for a while, to repair it properly you shoudl replace the pan of glass that's broken

yeh, thought as much. It's a shame as the holes are soooo small. One other thing I was thinking was getting two small triangular peices of glass and then sleaing over the holes with them if that makes sense? Any thing I do carry out though will be tested for a week or two before I decide to go ahead.

May be wrong, but if the holes are small enough you could get away with using some sealant.
Push comes to shove, i'm pretty sure marine epoxy doesnt leach chemicals after it's cured.

i'll try getting some piccies tonight and post tomorrow, then you can all give me your opinions :)
