Rena Aquarama 60 Replacements?

We've bought Dan a 2nd hand Aquarama 60 and the light is flashing on and off (we were warned, so still not a bad deal). We're going to try a new bulb (if we can work out which one we need) but if it's the light unit, what do we do? It's built into the hood - will we need to find a new hood for it or does anyone know what to do?

Hi KathyM,

If i remember rightly you will need a 15w lamp - 18 inch. I would check that first tho .

It is possible to remove the ballast, not sure off hand how to exactly, i can have a look at my aquarama 80 hood if you need to know. (As it happens that hood is spare - shame it's the wrong size for you!)

Might be worth having a go at removing the ballast - then if you can't you can buy a new hood and lighting. You will then be able to add more powerfull/more than 1 lamp if you wish.
