Ok right heres the low down.
I have a large concrete shape in my garden currently used as a flowerbed and i was told it was a pond before.. ok so fair enough. i now want to dig this out and make it my own pond that runs over the natural rockery we have.

the pond structure is 5' 6" long by 2' at the small end and 3' at the larger end.
i want to get some koi from work but i was wondering if this was possible? i know i need to know the depth... but assuming i can make it liek 3' + deep should that be ok for some koi? liek 8" koi?

tis a tad on the small side really.

it works out ot be aorund 260gallons and 500 is the bare minimum 1000 being the more comfortable sum.

if you could make it wider a touch longer and maybe deeper aswell then you'll be laughin!!

seeing as it's a old concrete pond thats probable being jabbed with a fork from gardening your going to need to re line it in some way to be on the safe side, although digging the concrete out to make it bigger won't be fun!!

oh and it's always more fun starting out with smaller koi!!
