Hi All

ok here we go about two weeks a frenid of mine was going to kill 4 guppeys that he did not want any more,as i was round i said no you dont and bought them home as would not see them killed like that and i like guppeys anyway.

the prop is my tank had only just finnished the cycle and all ready had 4 fish in see sig but when i added the guppys within a day or so i noticed my ammonia going up so done a 25% water change but now i can not get the ammonia down i have been doing water changes every two to three days to try and keep it down, but no luck. I dont what to use ammo lock as you never know when you get it down.

stuff i use in tank

Stress coat/Strees Zyme ( for water trement)
Filter Aid once a week
Nutrafin Cycle (to help the bac thats all readry there)
Anti Internal Bacteria (Had A fish With Dropsy and help stop my other fish getting it)

Would any of the stuff i use stop my bacteria working as it should.

my last test results

ammonoia 2.0
nitrite 0
nitrate 12.5 mg/l
PH 7.6

please help if you can to give me any ideas how to my ammonoia down. or is it all poss that im going though another cycle.

tx jaypee

Righto bud, thats a high level of ammonia, basically your tank is going through a cycle AGAIN because you've increased the bioload by a fair amount, and the bacteria need to cope, ammo-lock is useful in your situation, what it does is detoxifys the ammonia so its safe for fish, but it will still be there and will still cause nitrites to spike when the ammonia nitriying bacteria have established, the problem with it is that it will give you false ammonia readings on your test kit for a while which can cause confusion troubles, water changes EVERYDAY will help for now say like 30%

tx for your quick repley timbo_ska

looks like going to have add ammo lock then will do that right now

tx again for your help

No worries, be wary of your ammonia results for a few weeks though!!
