i have just bought 2 bolivians ram and since i have putted them in the tank, i have noticed that my redtail shark is "pushing" them with is body . (kinda hard to describe!). I mean, he is not pursuing them, he comes by them and start to "swing" his body to move them around.

They are not hurting each other at all but i find that weird.

I guess it is because my shark is wants them out of his territory.

any idea !??!

What size tank do you have? Rams are mostly bottom dwellers so they may be competing for the same territory. As the red tail gets bigger, there may be territory issues if your tank isn't big enough...

ok i guess it was a false alarm,
the redtail shark seems to leave the rams alone now. :D

he may have been checking them out. my ruby did this when i first introduced new fish. ideally when you have a ruby or a redtail you should introduce THEM to the community. they tend to establish territories all over the tank and newbies can get harrassed in the process of acclimating. i would keep an eye on things for a little while, especially when you turn out the lights...you don;t want to wake up with a few surprises.

:D As RTB's get bigger there agression level rises.....As parker said they are both bottom dwelling fish ..so make sure theres plenty of caves and hiding spots for them.....good luck red tailed black sharks are a great fish and when they are kept in good conditions their colors are amazing !!

thanks for the advise, i'll keep an eye on them B)
