One of my Redline Torpedo's has got pop eye.

I noticed it last week, at the time he also had luike small baloons coming from his gil on the same side.
I instantly caught him and put him in the quarantine tank.
I have been dosing daily with melafix for 7 days now. The balooning in his gils has gone but his pop eye is gettingt worse, any idea's

Melafix is only good on cuts and wounds.
You need the anti internal bacteria med by interpet.

Sorry, that was a bit ambiguous.

I meant, do I need to do a water change before using Internal bacteria by interpret, but I have now done a 95% water change to be on the safe side.

How soon should I notice a difference, his eye is massive.....

You can use melafix with bacterial meds so adding the interpet med while still abit of melafix in the tank won't harm.

Every fish is different so hard to say. Fish can die with popeye as it closely related to dropsy because of the build up of fluids.

I've been dosing with anti internal bacteria med by interpet for a week and a half now and the poip eye is no better, he has also developed are large bulging red sore under the pop eye, any more idea's?

You can double dose in extreme cases as a member contacted interpet and he told her to double dose.
The fish sounds like it really needs antibiotics which is only available through a vet in the uk.

How is he acting as don't like to say put fish down to absolutely sure.
If he looks in pain and in a bad way yes I would end it for him.

Woke up this morning and he is even worse, looks like the whole of the inside of his head has come out through his eye.
Looks very nasty and painful, so I took the decesion to end it for him, very sad.....

Wow that did sound awful bless him.
That the problem with lfs bacterial meds there only good on mild bacterial infections.
R.I.P. Bless him.
