Last night i noticed my water had gone red in one of my cichlid set ups!
I thought it was the light, but this morning it is the same. Ive done a water change and even when i tip the water away its a red colour.
Any help would be great please?
I dont really understand as i have 2 set ups exactly the same and its only one that has done it!

have you introduced any new ornaments/rocks/gravel/wood latelty?

Agree with above.
It could be somthing falling to peices.
And letting off colours to your tank.

Hiya no nothing new at all. Justs dead rock and sand. No new fish. No new food. nothing diffferent! im so puzzled.
Just checked nothing in the tank that shouldnt be there. it wouldnt be possible for anything to fall in.....

Could you get pictures of the ornaments?

I dont have a cam sorry.... its just literally dead ocean rock, its been in their ages tho and the other tank has exactly the same rock and sand so i dont see why it would happen to one and not the other....

Dead ocean rock?
You mean dead live rock?
Or just ocean rock.
I carnt understand this one.
If you do a large w/c leave it a couple of days,
do another w/c.
Then see how it is.

I would do a large water change and run activated carbon and filter floss in the filter. Could be a red alage bloom but they are extremely rare, I mainly think you Fe2O3 in the tank.
