I saw one of those poor things at the fish store the other day. It had clearly been given up by its owner, and was almost 2 feet in length. Awesome to behold. It's criminal that lfs's sell these things to people as pets. They'd make more money if they just grew them for food.

is catfish nice too eat i have never tried i know that some asian contries eat clownloach eels and i guess catfish aswell yummy!!!!!!!!

I guess I should have, but I didn't know that Brits didn't eat catfish.

It's excellent, even if you don't normally like fish, cause it doesn't taste really fishy. Bread it and fry it, yum yum. My favorite type of fish to watch and eat.

Americans eat a lot of catfish, as well as walleye, salmon, and trout.

ryan he anit got a prob in housing the fish just in what tank will eventually accomodate all the fish he wants he is smitten with the fish bug

oh a bit of goss jay jay okocha love fish wants a tropical tank but his mrs will not let him ha ha he has to stick with cold water (nowt wrong with cold water dont get me wrong ) but its funny though

Anyway if he can afford it I would recommend the biggest possible tank say 3000 gallons upwards.

keep guessing i cant tell you but thanks for the advice im looking into custom acryic tanks at the mo are they any good they make them too measure dont they

If he could afford a tank of 3000 gallons that sounds even better! You should be able to find someone who would custom make the tank for you. Good luck.

Sorry new at this so please forgive mistakes. We looked at a red but when we saw the dimensions on the label decided against it. We have a rainbow (naffly called jaws) who should be a smaller version and as pretty hopefully he will be alot smaller - please let us know if not. My oither half wanted a silver tip but when we saw the larger ones in the shop and the label we decided it was not a good choise. they are beautiful and I love them but I wish that staff were better informed.

i have seen a 17" red tail cat for sale what is the attainable size my friend has a 400 uk gal tank (10ft x3ft x2.5ft) we have seen a so called adult one that was about 34" is this right 1metre yes

They get pretty damn big. Awesome fish though.

thanks for the advice i know they get big thats why im planning to build a 1500 gal tank to house him thanks for the responce any way
