Red Lined Torpedo Barbs?

My two LFS', owned by the same man, usually have a few but only a few. You'd have to empty both shops to get a school of 5. They run about $30 US for 3" fish and if I had a bigger tank I'd be seriously thinking about getting some.

they are expensive because they are one of the most beautiful adult cyprinids money can buy.
i should know they live wild in the river that runs through my in-laws estate in india.

Eh? Hi Gill, but do your inlaws have an estate in the southern state of Kerala? These fish only come from Kerala, mostly in Kannaur. I thought you had an estate in the Panjab which is some 2,000 miles away. Maybe you are confusing them with somthing else. :) :good:

Hi All, I bought a couple of these fish yesterday, they were priced at £10 each or two for £19 at my local shop yet another shop not to far away was selling them at £18 each so that is quite a difference.

Steve.

Hi Steve. this just illustrates that people should look around otherwise they could end up with a poor deal.

Btw if anyone is able to get to the MA nr Telford they have massive full grown Denisonis around 4.5"-5". These are most likley wild and not farm bred and it is not very common to see fish for sale at this size. They were on sale for 3 for £50 though.

Someone Introduced Some LFS Bought ones a few years ago, and now there are loads.

I would love to have some of those monster barbs - can't remember the name, they were up to and over 3 feet. and live in fast flowing regions.

Not sure what you are referring to, do you mean Mahseer? They are huge, too big for the aquarium some reports to around 9ft!
