Thought that might attract some attention . . .

I'm looking for a couple of REDfish nets, apparently they are not as visible to the fish, can't find them anywhere :grr:
Anyone here know of any online dealers I can check ?
Cheers, Sean :good:

Your local Ann Summers ought to have plenty of those in stock =P

In all seriousness, try Ebay or Gumtree. Thats where I get most of my stuff from =)

Im still not sure on this, stuff I have read say they can and can't. When fishing, line and hooks are made red saying they wont be seen by the fish then they sell red bait saying fish are attracted to them?! Fish like Firemouths with that intense red surely dont have that for no reason :S Off topic but once watched a programme on jellyfish attacks and they place black, white and red objects in a tank with food at the other side and the jellyfish stayed away from, ignored and was attraced by the 3 colours cant remember which ones they were.

I got one of these from my lfs and they're the same it's really not any different I've still got it but don't favour it over any of my other black + green nets

Just my opinion :good:

Seeing as how all my fish tend to find the bloodworms which are red very easily or the red flakes I use from time to time I don't think a red net would help to much I might do it if it matched my tank but other then that I would probably just stick to a normal black net

maybe i'm just getting old and slow, and the fish are to fast lol :good:

i REALLY doubt that red is less visible to fish, don't believe me? find a laser pointer and point it at the gravel in your tank :shifty:

You could try to make a net yourself, if you know hon to sew. You'd take some red net fabric and make a pattern to sew it into a cube. The pattern would look like a square in the center with one square (of the same size) branching off the sides like a plus sign. Then you would use more thread to attach your net to a coat hanger or a bit of wire for a handle. (Making to wire go around the edges to make the net stay open, of course) Just an idea.

Sean, if you (or anyone else on here) are having problems netting your fish, try using two nets instead of the one - that way when they see one net and try to swim in the other direction, you can be there with the other net (sneaky, I know, but they do love to give us the runaround lol)

- oopsie - didn't mean to drag up an older thread, forgot to check the date!

there was a comment about this in last months PFK.

Apparently green and black nets are good. Use the black to 'guide' the fish into the green.....as they seem more likely to head to the green away from the black. Black = predators mouth apparently, if you believe it!
