well after discovering these on a well known online auction I have finally recieved these little fish. I have them separated in my breeding tank which is inside the main tank 'cos they are only bout 1cm big and I don't know if my other fish would eat them. Well 1 did escape into them main tank and I haven't seen it yet, I dont know if these can dig into my substrate (sand) or it is hiding some where else. Well what it is I am just wanting to know if anyone else have these fish and how they care for them.

If so can you let me know
2 common goldfish
5 tiger barbs
4 zebra danios
1 red honey gourami
Tank 24"x12"x12" 54.5 litres/12 gallons or 14.4 us galons

They're pretty small, and nocturnal so quite good at hiding in caves and behind rocks. Check this link Cherry Shrimp. As far as compatability, it's kind of a toss up, anything too aggressive or predatorial will probably eat them. Also, make sure to keep up on regular tank maintenance as you are a bit overstocked.

:good: thanks for the info and the link it has let me understand more about these beautiful little fish, can wait till they are in my main tank :fish: :thanks:

Sorry, but IMO you're pretty overstocked. Particularly given the goldfish, which are not tropical, grow big, and are messy. I also think goldfish are likely to eat your shrimp - mine really would eat everything that would fit in her mouth!
Don't mean to be bringer of bad news etc. If you could somehow rehome your goldfish that would be really good.

well how many fish should i have? :-(

General rule is 1 gallon per inch of fish, and that means thin fish, such as danios. Goldfish and barbs need more than one gallon of water per fish. 14.4 gallons for the amount of fish you have is too small imo. For the fish you have I would have at least a 20 gallon tank :/ . And I agree, goldfish don't mix well with tropical fish, as they like colder temperatures (and yes, goldfish are pretty messy, they like to poop a LOT). Your shrimp should be fine with your danios though.

Hi, just a bit of info for you. Cherry shrimps are invertebrates not fish. Your tank is much to small for the fish you have, Gold fish get much to big for your tank plus everyone is right when they say they don't do well with tropical conditions. Gold fish will at some point eat your shrimps, and I don't think your shrimps will be safe with the tiger barbs that could easily acting as a shoal destroy a cherry shrimp (if not by themselves). As the others have said you are over stocked, I'd say rehome the barbs and gold fish and you should be ok, though danios can be nippy, your best bet would be to contact "The Wolf" to find out whether they eat shrimps as he is the danio man.

good luck and enjoy the shrimp, they can make interesting pets.
