Red Bubble Algae

Just to try and keep the post on subject.. ;)

Yes its a macro algae.

I amnot sure what type of algae nut i can tell you what its not at least :*)

Haliptilon, Codiacea or Rhodophycaea. These are all reds algaeas but are braod leaves rather than bubble.

I like the red algaes are it adds a bit of extra colour to the tank and also provides a similar filtration service as the green algaes. The reds do tend to be a bit more dependant on Calium though so monitor your levels. At the moment its is not very large but in time it might effect levels

So should I still be using a calcium supplement? Or could that be making it thrive like it is.
 
I have a fairly sizable collection of sps corals and red algaes. I havent used any additives for calcium (yet)
