If they're Illegal to keep in the states how come my LFS has a red bellied for sale?
 
If they're illegal in all states, someone needs to be telling some of the bigger US piranha websites...

If you like Piranhas, the black piranha might be an option as it needs to live alone, it will eat any companion you put in with it.

Only problem is, it is illegal to feed live vertebrates in the UK, so I'm wondering if a piranha would eat dead meat?

Otherwise, a Wolf fish gets pretty big and will require as much space as 3 piranhas so...

Actually, when it was looked at in detail in a previous thread, all we could find was that it is illegal to feed a live vertebrate in such a way as to cause it distress. Most feeders are eaten in one go and this would not count. It's one of those myths about the English law.

Also, seeing as piranha are naturally scavengers they are one of the easier fish to eat dead food.
