can you recommend some good tanks under 60litres that have a good filter but not undergravel filter and good lighting for plants??

and you deffinately cant stretch to 90 litres? :)

If you could, i would highly recommend The Fluval Roma 90 litre

You can do far more with 90 litres than you can 60 and its not hugely bigger, just taller.

If you have to stick to 60 or below, you might want to look at the Interpet range here. Curved edges on the front make them quite nice to look at.

I cant think of much else off the top of my head, check out the seapets site for others. If you find one you like, post it up here and people can give you opinions. :)

I personally like the AquaOne ranges - you just need to watch the power of the filter pump compared with the tank volume.

I have a 65l and a 34l, and they use the same pump, meaning that there is pretty much double the turnover in the smaller tank, so if you're wanting a fighter, they can struggle a bit - in the end, I've got a smaller submersible pump, and canibalised bits together to make something more appropriate.

I wouldn't buy a bundle, I find you get much better value and better products if you're buying separately. This is the mistake I made - I thought it would be scary buying the equipment but it's not. I ended up replacing the filter and heater that came with my tank.

Any tank will do as long as it's watertight and ideally has a lid. As for the heater, you want one that's adjustable and at least 100W, and the filter will need a turnover of at least 300 litres per hour (a minimum of 5x the tank volume). I'm sure plenty of people will recommend you a filter.

i certainly wouldnt buy new either, but then you did say no budget :)

also, i assumed it would be a display tank, if its not, then i'd just buy a Clearseal Tank, interpet heater, Arc Pod Light Unit and a small internal filter. boooooooooooom
