Recommend Me A Good Lfs For A Visit

Hi All.

I live overseas but will be in UK in a couple of weeks on business. I've figured that on a couple of days I might have a few hours to go visit a couple of LFS just for a browse and maybe pick up a few bits and bobs along the way.

I'd be happy if anyone could recommend anywhere they feel worthwhile in the following couple of areas;

Sandford in Somerset
Lichfield in Staffordshire

Maidenhead Aquatics are amazing.
Well, the one we visit is.
Excellent quality tanks, well looked after, with some really rare fish now and again.
Staff know what they are on about, and they aren't just money grabbers, yesterday our assistant told us to put back some £20 chemicals, and offered us a non profit making solution.
Highly recommended...

Also recommend Wharf Aquatics in Pinxton, though the best place in the UK is The Green Machine in Wrexham, some of the displays in there are astounding:

Thanks for your replies and tips lads.

I've been in a couple of MA branches...Glasgow and Swindon and enjoyed both times. There are a couple I can choose from when I'm in the south but I'll difinitely try and get to Wharf Aquatics.

Unfortunately The Green Machine is just too far out my way. Just don't have the time to get there.

The nearest to Lichfield is Ripples, It's Llocated in the Wyvale Garden centre is Shenstone 5 mins from town centre.

just looked on that website, not seeing many fishies!!!

They have a large wall with display tanks stocked with fish, invertebrates and plants.

not on their website they dont.
Its nice though, if you wanna take some time out of your busy schedule to look at external filters.
Some proper rare ones on this site, some keepers!!!

Thanks for these mate, definitely worth a visit. I'll be in Lichfield on Monday and should be free around Midday. Have a drive down to Somerset after that but that's only about 3 hrs so should get a couple of hours to wander round at least one of those although Ripples is looking the favourite

I thought ripples was rubbish when I went...

Quite a lot of stock but the quality of fish and tanks was appalingenesis

The aquatic and pet warehouse in swadlincote has some good stock and always clean tanks

Very helpful staff too

Ripples in Telford is very good

Hollybush is closest to me, but after a few incidents il be traveling the extra distance to Telford
