I have a 54G corner Bowfront. It has a Amiracle MR Wet/Dry filter with a rio 2100 sump on it and a protien skimmer pickup box. holds about 4 gallons of bio-balls so my biological filtration is all set.

I need a mechanical filtration and I'm going to add a smallish cannister filter to the mix. I refuse to pay the outrageous price for ehiem so I'm looking at alternatives.

I'm thinking either a rena XP1 or XP2
also considering the Via Aqua 300 (211GPH)
or the Cascade 650 (263 GPH)

However I'm open to other alternatives that are below $60 USD.

As I previously mentioned in another thread, I use the Rena XP3 for a 55 gallon. I have no complaints about this particular filter, and it gives me so many options for filter media.

I haven't used the XP1/2 but the Rena brand seems to be a good one.

Big Al's has the eheim 2213 for $65. It is supposed to be good for tanks up to 65 G. The Rena 1 & 2 are $60 and $80 at the same place.

I bought a cascade 700. since my all of the LFS around me carry either cascade or fluval. and I didn't want to have to rely on the internet for media.
