 is this normal they feel detached from the bone and hang...
will bella need these removed?
are they normal?

when i was a vet nurse, in the dim and distant past, hind dew claws were nearly always removed. they are likely to get caught and may end up being ripped so best to have them removed asap.

ok ta hun :( is it a straight forward procedure?

I have my dog's dew claws removed when they are neutered. It's just a stitch or two, bandages for a week or so. They can be removed without anesthetic up to three days after being born, as they are still cartilage and have not hardened yet. After that they need to be put under.

I have chain link fence all around my yard, it is a dew claw hazard. I'd rather have them removed under ideal circumstances rather than an emergency situation.

We do it all the time at the vet where I work. It is very simple takes about 4 minutes and easily done when having the dog spayed. if they aren't attached it shouldn't hurt them at all. And it is much safer then having them ripped off if caught on something. (Which I've seen and is not pleasant)

Same here....my Bella had them removed when she was spayed. Much better than them being ripped and as we do agility it was the safest option :good:
