Realy Weird Story!

Well basicly went down to my local pet store (Pets at Home) and got my self a peace of drift wood with a planted plant in it and when i put it in the tank and started to fill it up with water i was shoked to see a fish in my tank.. i dont know what fish it is BUT as the plant that i liked was in a fish tank were they keep neon tetras and some other species. It took me like at least an hour before i put the plant in the water and there was no water in tha bag that they gave me but the fish is still alive. i cannot believe that a fish of that size managed to survive all that time. Its a bottom hugger with a flat bottom and it just stick under the tree all the time.. Any idea what this fish could be and what should i feed it. I cant get to it to take a pic of it.

have you got any suggestions what it could be.. if someone can show me a pic of what it could possible be then i can recognise the fish... iv been trying to find it on google but nothing.

The plant is Java fern, I think....the fish could be an Oto, Chinese Algae Eater, Pleco, Catfish(lots of different types) ...that should give you something to look at. What size tank do you have, as it may be something you DON'T want!!! ...ie. Common Pleco.

Poor little fishy whatever it is, yep thats Java Fern

If you can get a pic, once the poor things had time to settle down, we should be able to ID for you

hey guys i managed to get a snap of it and i THINK its a Spotted raphaael catfish

i realy hope he/she's gna be ok cos hes realy cool

and i wanna look after him because his been through a lot

He's lovely but havent a clue what type of fish he is.
Best to steralise new plants though in this case would of lost the fish.

hw do you sterilise plants... andy any idea what i can feed this little guy.. because by tomoro it would have been a whole day that he hasent eaten anything.. and as there is no algie growth yet he cant eat anything..

looks sorta like a upside down catfish if it is they are very shy

na i dont fink its an usidedown cat.. but my camera cant capure how luvly this fish is.. its black with like white stripes and has a shark like tail on it and under on the belly its also got like tiger strips in blac and white/yellow... and its mega fast...

Definitely looks like some type of Synodontis...nice fish. Synodontis schoutedeni perhaps?

what food should i get for it tho?

yep thats Java Fern

the plant is microsorum pteropus 'narrow' (aka java fern narroww)

Depends on exactly which species he is...they vary greatly in size.
