I've never had any luck with albino or panda cories. I'd get them and after a few months, I'd loose them all....no water perimeter problems, disease, agressive fish....I just didn't have luck with them. However, I had two peppered cories for quite a long time (I've heard that panda and albinos are a more sensitive cory, while peppers are hardier).

What are some hardier cories, that are a little bit "prettier" than peppered cories?

depends on how you define pretty. i personally like the spotted, the julii/trinis (they are two that look similar and are often sold as the other...), and i adore my emeralds (they may not be a real stunning green, but they are larger and have a great deal of personality, and some sparkle). i also like sterbai, though around here they tend to be a bit pricey.

what MAM said...
Sterbai are gorgeous!
and emeralds are bubbly & active
I think the more personality makes the cory better, not the 'prettiness' hehe they are all beautifulll to me!

But yes get some sterbai!

i think the adolphoi are beautful but the trilineatus are cutest. :)

but if youre wanting something hardier, go with pepperd or bronze. :)

Hi dixaisy930 :)

While pandas seem to be delicate little corys. the bronze or albino C. aeneus are about as sturdy as corys get. They, along with the peppered corys are tolerant of a range of temperature conditions and usually adapt well to most community environments. These are the fish I usually recommend to beginners just because they are so easy to keep.

Why not give them another chance? If your lack of success with them was due to anything but poor tank cleaning practices, you are almost bound to have better luck next time.
