Hi there, I can imagine this horse has been beaten to death already here, but I was wondering if anybody could help me decide which tank to buy... Have been looking for the past week but I still didn't get to a solution. I used to have a 90lt aquarium fully planted years ago, but now I'd like to start again and go straight for something bigger.

Basically I boiled it down to two alternatives: Fluval Vicenza 260 and Aqua One Aquience 1200r.
My main requirements are: 250 to 300 lt tank, good t5 lighting (the aquience has got 4 tubes instead of 2, which is a plus), and external filtering.

I haven't considered Juwel rio tanks as they come with T8 lights and internal filter and I should buy straight away a new filter and adapt it etc.

Any experience you may already have with these tanks? I'm just very undecided... Thanks guys!

Welcome to the forum Maxesse.
Living in the US, I have no experience with your particular tanks but I did move the thread here to the equipment part of the forum. I support your desire to start out right. So many people try to get by and then end up spending even more money once they realize that was not a good idea.
Have you explored sources such as used equipment? They can give a huge boost to your choices by making more things affordable. Things like stands, filters, heaters and lighting are often added in as a part of the package on used equipment.

i have a fluval vicenza they are great tanks

the newer juwel tanks do come with t5 lighting its called juwel high light but like i said i have a fluval vicenza and wouldnt change it i love it

I bought the Fluval Vicenza 260l recently. It's a beautiful piece and the filter pipes are already in place in the tank for you to connect your external filter to - no ugly pipes up at the back.
