what colour are young(3-4") senegals?

Kinda white, very albino looking

so pale in colour, almost lilac would you say?

a pale grey-whitish colour, they have small black dots running down their lateral lines, and some also carry a thin black line under the lateral line, although this does not run the length of the body, like the spots do.

You can also tell them as being young, as they float at the surface alot when young, and only venture to the bottom when the start to get bigger, where they will spend a lot of time sculking about :)

perfect description of what I have, many thanks :good:

great to be of help, enjoy your Poly, I reccoment trying to hand feed Lanch fish to it when it gets bigger and more confident its amazing to have them wriggle about on the end of the fish, as you tug it away a little. B)
