I think these are snails eggs, the clutch (?) is under 5mm across, and there's another little fella in the bottom right of the picture too, which is far to small to see.

Taken on a Nikon D50, 50mm, 1.8 with a full set of extension tubes (63mm) f5.6, 1.5 second exposure.

In fact you could do just as well with a D40 kit and Extension Tubes

Then add a cheap secondhand manual Nikon lens

You can see the algae growing too.

awesome, i have just looked at the EXIF data on the 1st pic & it says f/ 0.0

i didnt think you could have 0! or is it just something that has gone wrong somehow!
