Word of warning on the giant danio's, a friend tried them out as dithers and they got eaten. I think it was due to their body shape (silver dollars are tall while the danio's are pencil shape - making them easier to swallow). If you did try the danio's I would get them quite a bit bigger than the cichlids. Due to the fact that if you got them at the same size, the cichlids will outgrow the danios and most likely try and snack on them.
