Re-scaping My Tank

I have decided to rescape my fish tank, any feedback would be great!!

Both look fantastic, think I prefer the first one though. Though that may be down to the sizes of the photo.

Both look nice, but I also prefer the first one, the new one looks a little bare

Could do with more plants I think?

Yeh it currently does look a little sparse at the moment but, I am hoping that the plants I currently have will start to grow a bit! I'm just hoping the grass I got by the pebbles will grow and spread out to fill the remaining gaps

However it is a bit hard to decide on what plants I want to put in, as I am looking at having an unusual look, I have a madagascan plant and another type which I dont know its name

If anyone could give any advice that would be great

I like the new look and a few plants would look good in there. Amazon Swords and Hygrophila sp. are fairly easy to grow and get to a nice height.
Have you considered a black background? It would really make everything stand out.
Other than that, it's great.

One thing...
Is that a Jewel cichlid I see in there... they really shouldn't be kept in community tanks! Very argessive fishes!
