Re-planting My Tank

I attached a background like that with clips that hung over the top rim of the tank and held the tiles in place. On the bottom of the tank I just made sure I had 3-4" of gravel lying against it so the bottom wouldn't pop out.
 
I really don't think that swords will be particularly happy growing on wood. They are heavy root-feeders.
The last time I was around my lfs he said they would be fine on a bogwood :angry: Just goes to show the quality of people working there. Can you suggest some other plant that might be suitable for a bogwood
 
regards to your backing i had a simler one black rock effect all i done was weged it in place between the glass on the bottom and a glass lip at the top and then put gravel at the bottom it never moved till i wanted it to

That's really good to hear. Perhaps I'll try the same. I have an aquastart 500 so hopefully I should be able to hook it at the back without sealant like one of you guys. Thanks for that :good:

Are you looking for a small plant or a large one?
Java Fern is one that HAS to be planted on wood etc, and not the substrate, so you could try that. Not sure if it would get too big for your tank though?
