my male is currently in the community tank but it looks like one of his find have been nipped, so i want to re house him!!
The only space i have is in the kitchen, will this area be ok? Also what other things are a must like filtering, lighting, heating, plants ect.

kitchen should be fiiine. bettas like to watch whats going on around them, at least mine do!

2-5 gallon tank, space at the top to get air, and a LID!!
slow filtration, if any, no strong currents
mine don't seem to bothered by lighting, ones with and ones without, the one with goes stripey when ever the light is on.
heating - warm room temp - moderate tropical temps, i keep mine between 22-24 degrees and they seem happy enough
plants - they like to hide away sometimes, and have stuff to rest their fins on, as long as its not sharp or plastic and doesnt rip there fins it's cool.

I've got mine in the kitchen, I've had them for 6 months now and they have been fine. I enjoy the company when I am in there! They always come to beg for food.
