Didn't see this one coming!!! lol
I've had a few probs keeping my RCC alive and have scooped out at least 4 over the last several weeks so when another was found lifeless on Thursday morning we went through the disposing routine.
Feeling quite dispondant that the changes I had made to the tank clearly wasn't working I took a sample of water up to the shop to be tested and was very surprised that the water tests were fine. Getting more fraustrated that my poor little crabbies keep dying, I was on the verge of giving up when the others meet their maker.
Thursday evening we were looking at the 3 left in the tank when 3 had suddenly become 4 again!! Gave me the shock of my life as we'd disposed of 1 that morning!!! yep you guessed it, the crab had molted and we had thrown away the old shell.lol (know usually it should be left for the crabby to eat but though it a bit late to put it back in the tank after throwing it away)
Never seen an old molted shell and it looked exactly like a crab just a paler colour but assumed it was a dead crab.lol wow that's a big lesson learned there!!! All 4 crabbies are doing very well (tough wood)
