Ray's Journal

Euphyllias, I love em :good: make sure he doesnt get too much flow, they really hate it - r you running a phoshate remover, they are very sensitive to phosphate changes

How about adding your photo to the Coral of the week thread for Euphyllias?

That frog spawn is very nice mate!

Tank si coming along nicely. That nice bright red piece of LR ( i think anyway) looks cool :p Takes away from the normal rock colours and gives a nice platform for more corals! Wow im looking at rocks, can tell im a reefer right!?!?

Pics are geting nice and clearer too. And that new coral appears to be some Xenia to my newbie eyes :D But im pretty sure i am correct :) google it and compare? :D

Wheres the new Full Tank Shot? :p

Thanks much for the compliments. You are right it is a Xenia. The rock behind it with the pink or red coloring is actually a skeleton of some coral I bought off my LFS cause I thought it looked neat.

Here is the full tank shot lol.

As you can see my corals are all little frags but I hope they grow nice and big.

When is the background going on Ray?

I am not sure what to get. I didn't like any I have seen. I thought about painting the back of the tank black, but I cannot get behind it very easily. The tank is too heavy to move lol.

You could try the old vasoline trick - get the backing paper, either black or blue - black hides equipment best and smear with vasoline, then just push the background from one side to the other

Ya. I put a blue metallic back on my 10 usg nano. Thats what I'd like on the 55usg but couldn't find big enough at LFS.

Is it just me or is the fulltank shot really really small and unclickable to make it larger? :p

ill be watchin ur tank prgoress mate :)

I made all my pictures 400x300. It makes faster load times for those that dont have decent computer or Internet connection like I do.

Makes sense, I have terrible eye sight however, even with my glasses :D So couldnt see nothing haha.

Ill wait around for the next one :) You have me as a watcher from now :D

Yea... can 't see the FTS either xD I see a yellow blur... and some white blur...

Corals look great.
I think that unidentified one is some type of xenia, but it's difficult to tell in the picture.
