Ray

Hi everyone.

I'm looking at getting a Ray, I have two sucessful tropical tanks and I'm looking at getting a new large tank capable of housing a Ray or two.

I have spoken to petshop workers who care for them aswell as looking at book and the net. I understand alot about the Rays, but I am unsure of what fish I could keep with them as tank mates. and i would rather have more smaller tank mates if possible rather than a couple of larger ones.

All thoughts welcome

Small tankmates will be eaten,

tankmates can include Silver Dollars, Distichodus, Flagtails, Severum, Uaru, Datnoids, etc

fraid so... tankmates need to be powerful enough to escape if the rays cover them, (particularly at night), otherwise they are just a midnight snack. maybe not today.... but soon.


One thing you always need to accept is rays are top preds and if it is in the tank it could end up on the menu

I've seen some apparent StingRays kept with Discus in my LFS. Not sure that they are stingrays, but they definitely look like rays.
