It is really easy to overstock a tank as small as a ten-gallon, so you need to be careful there. First, you should always consider your source water parameters and which fish are suitable for your water source. Second is water temperature, like where I live it gets really hot during the summer, my tap water can get up to 80+° F. So I stay away from fish that need cooler water like danios and goldfish. You live in Canada so I am not sure about your year around water source temp. Do your research on these three key things to start, stocking, water parameters, and temperature.
