I don't think Mojo was being rude in any way, just stating his opinion.
Anyway, Leighann, I'm so sorry for your loss and I can understand you feeling angry. Don't make any decisions yet as you are still mad, wait until you've calmed down and then have a think about things. We all do drastic things when we are upset and it's not always for the best.
As it has been suggested, encourage your boyfriend to go and buy another Betta with you (make sure he pays for it) and try to educate him on it's needs. If he has chosen the Betta with you then he will probably be more inclined to help look after it properly.

well i have calmed down and thats the thing i explained to him the proper care for a betta and trusted him. believe me i take some of the fault for this and it wont happen again. he was very apologetic, especially after he saw how much it affected my and we decided to set up a nice tank equiped with a heater and a filter and rescue a betta that is in need and give it a life steve didnt get to forefill i think he learned from his mistake and he has always had a liking towards fish so he wants to try again.

It sounds like he is really sorry, just a shame you lost your fish. A good chance for you to teach him now!
