Rams don't need too large a tank. Are you considering a Bolivian Ram or a German Blue/Golden Ram?
In my opinion, the Bolivian are much hardier and not too dependant on water parameters. They grow larger and will mix fine with your fish. The Blue Rams need soft water and are more fragile.

The bolivian ram is really cool and easyish to keep at times it will chase fast moving fish but won't hurt them

Blue rams are also pretty cool but can be kind of hard to keep, they will swim with or stalk other fish

If I where to go with one it would be the bolivian ram.

i dont think the cooler liking paradise fish would enjoy the higher temps that the GBR would require so i woild say they were a bad choice of tank mates tbh. possibly a bolivian ram and the paradise fish might work but even at 26-27 degrees C the paradise fish will be at its temperature limit.

I have a pair of Bolivian rams, they are very placid and slowly swim/explore the tank, so I don't think a large tank is paramount. The male has grown to a fair size as well (had them for about 5 months I think) and he is a beautiful colour. I'm tempted to get other Rams to go with them, but I have been put off with what people have said (no harm in trying mind, if confident in your water quality).
