Rams Horn Snail Are Awesome!

I got these Rams horns as hitch hikers with some pond snails. But the Rams horn snails took over and I don't have any pound snails. Now I have a verity of different color Rams horns. I now pick out the colors I don't like. Then leave the ones I like to breed. I have a good amount of algae in my tank and they don't hurt my plants at all. I think these guys are the best clean up crew.

I have a blue shell kind and a Golden red kind. Some are even Clear.

My biggest red Snail is amazing he swims. I did not have video so here is a bunch of photos.

I think mine are pretty cool too. My problem ... I had too many pond snails (and just a few rams horns) so I got some assassin snails. They ate my all-time favorite rams horn who was HUGE! Why couldn't they eat the tiny pesky pond snails???

Ramshorn snails are the favourite food of the assassin snail. They will eat the pond snails but only after they eat the ramshorns.

My ram horns took care of my pond snails. When I started seeing pound snails I also saw RH then I only saw RH no more pound snails..

Why. they are a great little cleaners. Mine stay under control because I don't over feed and my betta snacks on them. He hurts the babies down.

awesome pics indeed! i think the blue one is my favorite I never had much luck with my snails staying alive for a long period of time... I do like them though
