I have got a 29G planted tank with 10 cardinals, 6 corys, 5 amanos, 5 otos and one albino plec. I am looking to add a few more fish and thought of either more tetras or danios and a pair of microgeophagus ramirezi. What do you think, are they compatible and what fish could I get.
I would like some nice colourful and small fish to compliment the plants. My water is soft and has a ph of 6.5. I am grateful for any ideas.
Thank you Sandra

Most smaller tetras would be a suited for your tank... Just try to avoid fin nippers such as Buenos Aires Tetra as cardinals don't do well when stressed/chased.....Wouldn't suggest Bloodfins as the tend to hang at the bottom of the tank and you already have a lot of bottom fish as is.... Personally I would opt for a fish that spends time on the upper levels of your tank... Danios do hang out on the top and are VERY active but not so colorful (other than the glowlight danio, I don't own one YET but quite like them)... Harlequin Rasboras are also a small active fairly colorful fish that would be compatible with your tank.... As far as the pair of microgeophagus ramirezi I honestly have no advice on that as I have no experience with them..... I love a planted tank (and ottos) sounds like you have a nice set up…. Good luck with the new fish… (I’m going through the same dilemma think I’m going for the rasboras)…..

Hi,
thank you for your reply,
I dropped the idea now. I bought some Hemmigrammus georgia (6) and will have 10 Cardinal Tetras. As addition I will try a few of the new Microrasboras sp. galaxy. How many do you think would be advisable. I would like 3 hatchets for the surface. That means 3 Hatchets, 10 Cardinal, 6 Hemigrammus, 3 Corydoras pygmaeus, 2 Cory julii ,1 Panda, one albino plec. and the amount of galaxy. Is that too much for 29 gallons?
Should I skip the Cardinals and only buy the galaxy? Or leave the hatchets? The other fish are already in the tank..or can I have all..?
Regards Sandra
