Could you keep a pair of Blue Ram Cichlids in a 16 gallon tank with so small shrimp?

I think it would be okay. As long as they are the only fish in the tank other than the shrimp otherwise you might have to size up a bit.

A pair of ramirezi dwarf cichlids can be kept in a 2 foot tank. However, you need to get a pair that have chosen each other, rather than just any 2 fish. To get a pr, you either buy 8-10 fish and put them together in a tank and let them pair off naturally. Then the prs are moved into their own tanks. Or you buy a pr that have chosen each other. If you just put a male and a female together, they might not get along and it won't work.
