Depends on how much space you have, but I've kept Red Rainbow Fish (or also known as New Guinea Rainbowfish (Glossolepis incisus) as well as Boesmani Rainbow fish (Melanotaenia boesemani) and Neon Rainbow fish (Melanotaenia praecox). I have found them to be peaceful fish and a beautiful addition to any (most) general community tanks.

Absolutely. You need to keep a few and some grow to a good size.

Yes, I saw you had a 6x2x2 with a rainbow in your sig. That does not say how much space you have for more fish though!

rainbows are an excellant fish for your tank.i have praecox,boesemans,parkinsons,red salmon and celebs rainbows in with my discus.couldnt reccomend them highly enough.

In that case, I would think Melanotaenia praecox is tailor made for you. It is widely available, very attractive, very active and rarely exceeds 75-80mm. In a large tank with good water conditions, the majority of the commonly available rainbows will grow to a really good size, 150mm or more.
